Applying for the YouthRoots Office and Program Assistant job?

I'm glad you are applying for this awesome part-time job - you're going to love it! I noticed today (I know a little late... if I had another set of eyes this wouldn't have happened, thus we are hiring) that the email address to apply is wrong.

Please send your application to: info@youth-roots.org with the subject line "YouthRoots Program and Office Assistant Job Posting"

Have a great day! They are due by 5pm tonight - more info on how to apply here

Meet last week's member: Abbie Zislis

My name is Abbie Zislis, I’m a sophomore at Cherry Creek High School, and I want to change the world.

The idea of “changing the world” can be daunting. Where does one even begin? Overwhelming and seemingly unapproachable—this is the mindset that many apply to stimulating change. In fact, it wasn’t until I joined YouthRoots that I realized that changing the world isn’t quite as scary as I’d initially presumed.

Meet Last Week's YouthBoard Member Spotlight: Blanca Favela-Rangel

Due to our Youth Roots Retreat over Nov 12-13, at Estes Park, I feel even more empowered as a youth. We went through lessons that helped me rethink how I can manage things, when moving forward in the philanthropy world. The Needs Assessment hit me the most.

Here's How to Get Involved!

Get Involved

Like what you see?  Join us.

Opportunities for Youth:

  • Register to apply to the YouthRoots YouthBoard: How to Join

  • Can’t wait?  We’re looking for high school students that want to help make YouthRoots seriously awesome.  If you want to help us behind the scenes with marketing, program creation, public relations, and building our organization, contact us at info@youth-roots.org

Opportunities for Adults:

Around here, it’s not all “show me the money,” (though we’re not gonna say no to a check).  We’re also looking for community leaders with a unique insight who want to be directly involved with a group of tomorrow’s leaders.

  • Speaker Series—we’re seeking change makers to come talk about their path, passions, and life lessons sometime during the 2011-2012 school year.  If you own a business, hold office, run a non-profit, or lead entrepreneurially in some way, we want to talk to you. Please email us at info@youth-roots.org

  • Mentor—Want to pass on your insights but don’t want to speak?  No problem.  We’re looking for a network of resources our adult and youth board can draw on for advice, help, and creative fundraising.  If you’ve got a skill, location, product, nugget of wisdom, network of generous adults at your disposal, or a way of doing things that you think could help us, we’d love to incorporate you into our fold (and invite you to our networking events). Please email us at info@youth-roots.org

  • Social Change Partner—This is a chance to pass on your extensive business knowledge, listen to an aspiring leader of tomorrow, and learn about the current issues affecting youth in Denver.

With help from local businesses and corporations, YouthRoots compiles a list of “Social Change Partners” who the youth can call on and present their pitch. This list of organizations will serve to act as a safe place for the youth to make their pitch and be heard. By being on this list, you are not required to donate money. Please email Lacey if you are interested or have any questions: lacey@youth-roots.org

P.S. We are also looking for corporate sponsors – Please email Lacey if you think there is potential for a mutually beneficial partnership *key word = beneficial It's always a good thing to be associated with YouthRoots :) lacey@youth-roots.org

  • Volunteer—we’re always looking for help.  If you feel inclined to give some time, we’ll be happy to put you to work.  And by work we mean party.  Kind of. Please sign up for our mailing list and select the volunteer option.

  • $$$--Like we said, we won’t say no to a check.  In fact, we’ll emphatically say yes, and then give you a big ol’ hug.  Unless you’re not the hugging type.  In which case, that’s cool, too. Donate Now

If any of these are your cup of tea, or something else we haven't thought of, please email us at info@youth-roots.org and we’ll get you what you need to get involved. I promise.
